Social Enterprise UK has released ‘Trading for Good’ a new report into small and medium sized social enterprises.
Some of the more interesting findings include:
- 31% of social enterprises have a turnover under £50,000, and 86% have a turnover under £1 million.
- They are choosing legal structures that identify them as businesses operating in and for a community, rather than as a registered charity.
- Smaller social enterprises are less likely to be involved in public services.
